Founder and Director

Kate is a Chartered Business Psychologist and Executive Coach with 30 years’ experience. She started her career at SHL and held senior positions in a number of consultancies in the UK and Australia, prior to founding KO Consulting.  

She is passionate about enabling leaders and their teams to thrive, through supporting them to develop the mindsets, practices and habits that lead to sustainable success. She works attentively and flexibly with her clients to create a brave and safe space where people can grow in awareness of themselves and others, explore new and different perspectives, and be intentional and accountable in committing to wise action.

Kate has worked with thousands of senior executives, leaders, middle managers and high potential leaders in many leading UK and global organisations, across a wide range of sectors and disciplines. She combines her many years of experience and expertise with a commitment to continually learn and develop herself so that she can bring her best to every client she works with.

She is accredited in the OPQ, Wave, Hogan (HPI, MVPI, HDS) Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Lumina Spark, FIRO, GLWS, MTQ48 (Mental Toughness), EIP (Emotional Intelligence) and MQ (Motivation Questionnaire), the Leadership Development Profile (LDP) and Cognitive Process Profile (CPP), and several 360° feedback tools. She is a qualified Coaching Psychologist, on the BPS register of Coaching Psychologists, an NLP Practitioner and certified in Transactional Analysis. She is trained in Developmental, Neuroscience-based and Somatic coaching.

Kate has a particular interest in wellbeing and and is a qualified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA). In 2020 she created a series of coaching videos - Techniques for Turbulent Times - aimed at supporting people with practical tools and techniques to navigate through the Covid-19 pandemic. Her first book, Rise and Shine - How to transform your life, morning by morning, co-authored with her brother, Toby Oliver, was published by Piatkus in December 2021.

In addition to her consultancy work, Kate is a volunteer interview coach and stylist with Smart Works, supporting women to successfully gain employment.  

Kate lives in Twickenham and Hove with her fiancé, her teenage son, his daughter and their English Toy Terrier, Pixie.

Jo is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Executive Coach with a depth of expertise in leadership development, employee engagement and executive coaching. With a passion for learning, she supports experienced business leaders to develop in emotional intelligence as a key enabler of success for individuals, teams and businesses.  She has held senior leadership positions in a number of leading consultancies, including Brathay, Penna, Roffey Park and JCA and is an educator for Duke CE. We have been working together for over 25 years. 

As a coach and facilitator, Jo quickly develops trust. She feels it is important to support people to understand and manage themselves so they can then lead their business and its people. She is known for being a challenging and insightful coach.

Jo is accredited and experienced in the use of a wide range of psychometrics, including MBTI, Emotional Intelligence Profile, Team Emotional Intelligence, EQi2, Hogan Development Survey, Firo Element B, Strength Deployment Inventory, OPQ, MQ, SHL ability tests, Leadership Development Profile, 360 degree feedback measures.

Her interventions are informed by leading edge thinking in the fields of leadership and management, employee engagement, organisational development and change – all areas where Jo has personally conducted research, published papers and reports and is a regular platform speaker. Carolyn is an experienced Chartered Occupational Psychologist and former colleague from SHL and Human Qualities.  She has twenty years’ consulting experience, working with individuals and teams in a broad range of organisations, from hospitality to finance, charities to FMCG, and media to telecommunications.  

Her core expertise is in identifying and developing talent, executive assessment and leadership development.  Carolyn particularly enjoys supporting and coaching individuals to reach their potential and lead their teams more effectively.

She is also qualified in a wide range of psychometric tools, including OPQ, WAVE, MBTI Step 1 & 2, IE & TE (emotional intelligence tools) and HDS. Her clients appreciate her down to earth and pragmatic approach, using her expertise and knowledge to generate practical and useable solutions that really work. Her extensive expertise in assessment, development and leadership, and willingness to share her real life experience to bring issues to life, mean that Carolyn is always in demand.

Beyond her consulting work, Carolyn is actively involved in communal activities, where she was the global Chair of Limmud between 2009 – 2012 and is now a trustee for the Union of Jewish Students and for World Jewish Relief. She continues to mentor and advise volunteers within Limmud and is the President of her synagogue in the UK.

Nana is a Chartered Psychologist with around 20 years’ experience as an internal and external consultant, specialising in leadership coaching and development, team facilitation, 360° feedback, diversity and inclusion, and talent and executive assessment

.She has held senior positions with a number of consultancies and global companies, both in the UK and overseas, including a position with Standard Chartered Bank, defining and executing the learning and talent agenda across the Middle East.  She is also a Founding Member of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology and has a post-graduate certificate in Psychosynthesis Leadership Coaching from the Association for Professional Executive Coaching & Supervision.  She is practised in the use of a wide range of psychometrics.

Nana is Ghanaian by descent but made her home in the somewhat cooler shores of Britain as a teenager. She has lived and delivered successful global projects in an eclectic cross-section of cultures across Europe, Africa, Asia, USA and the Middle East.  

Nana is passionate about helping leaders, at any stage of their careers, realise their potential. She works with people from the inside out, with the whole person, cultivating better self-awareness and authenticity.  She has particular interest in Women in Leadership, Minorities in Leadership and Evolutionary Leadership.  Clients consistently tell her that she brings powerful combination of insightfulness, results-focus, energy and humour to her work.

Clare Amos is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and a former colleague from SHL.  She has over twenty years’ consultancy experience.  Her approach is underpinned by robust and contemporary psychological thinking, complemented by a pragmatic, empathic and challenging approach that is focused on achieving inspiring results for her clients. 

Clare is experienced in the design and delivery of leadership and team development, executive assessment, coaching, 360 feedback and organisational design. She has worked with senior executives and management teams across a range of industries within the UK, Europe the Middle East and Asia. She has spent time researching the field of accelerated learning and has also studied and worked internationally with a wide variety of coaching professionals.

Clare’s coaching work is rooted in her belief that achieving better individual performance for senior executives is often a function of psychology not individual capability. Consequently, she uses both psychological tools and personal insight to enable her clients to articulate and change psychological processes that form a barrier to great performance. Her solutions are always aligned to business goals.

Adrian is a qualified Executive Coach and facilitator with over 30 years’ experience working with leaders up to and including chief executive level from across the private, public and voluntary sectors.   He started his career in public sector management. He is a former director of Strategic Leadership at the Roffey Park Institute and the Founder Director of Deeper Leaders, a collective committed to developing deeper leaders of organisations and communities.  Over the past 30 years, he has coached hundreds of senior leaders and worked with over 30 top teams to develop their effectiveness, focus their strategies and build resilience. He brings a combination of calm, compassion and challenge to his work.

Adrian has a passion to help leaders explore deep questions about their organisations, their leadership and their lives. Whether working at individual, top team or organisational level, he loves to ask the questions leaders frequently neglect when caught up in the 'tyranny of the urgent' - questions that, when explored, unlock secrets to sustainable success.

He is qualified and experienced in a range of psychometric tools, including: Hogan, MBTI, FIRO-B, and 360° feedback tools.

Adrian is married, has three grown up daughters and lives in South London. With his wife Laura, he is in the process of setting up a not-for-profit consultancy to support church leaders in their role as leaders in their communities.

Neil Thomson MA(Hons) MSc C.Psychol AFBPsS

Senior Associate

Neil is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with 20 years’ experience as both an internal HR and OD consultant with BT and as an external consultant with SHL and PAL.  

Neil has a particular focus on two areas of work – executive assessment, development and coaching, and organisational development.  He has worked on the design and delivery of a wide range of assessment centre, development centre and coaching programmes, from worldwide leadership development initiatives to individual coaching of senior executives.  He is an acknowledged expert in the design of organisation-wide competency frameworks, having developed these for many organisations, from UK brands to multi-national enterprises. 

In parallel with his work on executive assessment and coaching Neil works on major change programmes with UK public sector departments and agencies, and has acted as a programme consultant to both the Police Service and the Department of Education.

Neil is certified on numerous psychometric tools, including OPQ, MQ, MBTI, FIRO-B, Wave, Dimensions, the Hogan suite and Strengthscope, as well as being a registered PRINCE2 practitioner and an experienced business process analyst.

Neil lives in Yorkshire with his partner, his boys having long flown the nest.

Senior Associate

Carol is an ex-colleague from SHL with over 20 years' experience as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, working in assessment and development consultancy. She has worked with a wide range of organisations in the UK and internationally, across sectors including financial services, telecommunications, media, pharmaceuticals, hospitality & leisure, consumer goods and supermarkets. Prior to working as an independent consultant, she worked as a Learning & Development Consultant at One2One (now T-Mobile) where she was responsible for redesigning the organisational competency framework, improving selection and performance management in the call centres and designing development centres for technical professionals. 

Her areas of expertise include competency design, Assessment and Development Centres, simulation exercise design, executive assessment, 360° feedback, development planning and coaching. 

Carol is also an experienced designer and facilitator of leadership, management and personal development programmes and team events. She holds Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing Levels A and B, and is a registered user of numerous psychometric tests and questionnaires, including OPQ, WAVE, 16PF, MBTI, FIRO-B and HDS. She has also completed a Certificate in Coaching and is working towards a CIPD Intermediate Certificate in HR Development.

Caroline is an ex-colleague from Human Qualities.  Her career spans over 20 years, with experience gained working as an internal consultant in organisations as diverse at the Metropolitan Police and American Express before moving into a range of external consulting roles.

Caroline’s passion is for the growth and development of individuals and teams.  She believes strongly that the key to change lies in getting people to take responsibility for themselves and their actions.  Her specialist areas include leadership development, assessment-based development, facilitation and executive coaching.  

She brings to her work a combination of insight, warmth and challenge that enable her to really bring out the best in people. Her supportive and non-judgemental nature, alongside her keen interest in what makes people tick, supports her in creating a safe space for individuals to ‘hold up a mirror’ and understand themselves at a deeper level.  She supports individuals to explore and free themselves from limiting beliefs, which are often outside of conscious awareness, and enables them to function with greater conscious intention.

She is currently studying an MA in Consulting and Leading in Organisations: Psychodynamic and Systemic Approaches at the Tavistock.

Tina is an ex-colleague from SHL and has nearly 30 years of experience working as a chartered business psychologist and executive coach. She spent ten years with SHL during which she managed a team of consultants and was involved in a diverse selection of consultancy projects spanning clients across all industry sectors. In 2001 Tina became an independent consultant, working in partnership with a wide range of clients from the private, public and not-for-profit sector in the UK and internationally. Her main focus is enhancing the potential of individuals, teams and organisations through objective assessment and targeted development.

When offering executive coaching Tina aims to respond in a tailored way to the needs of each individual and will often use psychometric instruments and 360 degree assessments as a starting point. Tina is British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A and B qualified and is licensed to use Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Team Focus Type Mapping System, JCA's Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (ie), GLWS, FIRO Element B, WAVE, OPQ and HDS.

Karen is an experienced Chartered Occupational Psychologist and former colleague from SHL.  She has over twenty years’ consulting experience, and has held senior roles in a number of consultancies including Commercial Director of SHL Australia and Managing Director of SHL Ireland.

Her specialism is assessment and selection work, and encompasses both 1:1 assignments and large scale multinational assessment centre projects. She has substantial experience in the development of bespoke competency models and assessment exercises.  

Karen is trained in the use of a broad range of psychometric measures including MBTI, 16PF, FIRO-B and the SHL and Saville Consulting assessment portfolios.

Karen has extensive cross cultural experience gained from work with international clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia where she has facilitated numerous assessment and development programmes.  Clients and colleagues love Karen’s warm and down-to-earth nature, her common-sense approach and her wicked sense of humour.

Chris is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, with well over twenty years of consulting experience in implementing practical solutions involving assessment for recruitment, selection and development.  

Chris combines strong professional delivery and project management skills, with a dedication to client service, and a strong track record in managing organisations and delivering projects in diverse, international environments (he works extensively with the United Nations).  

He is an ex-colleague from SHL, where in addition to holding senior roles in the UK, he also spent 10 years working overseas, first as the General Manager of SHL Hong Kong and then as the Managing Director of SHL New Zealand.  

His main areas of work include executive assessment, 360 degree feedback, assessment and development centres, competency development and competency based interview training.   He is an expert in the design of objective assessment tools and exercises, and is qualified in the use of SHL, Talent Q and Saville Consulting products.

Nick Marlow

Executive Coach

Initially over 20 years in corporate life, Nick held diverse roles within three international, blue-chip organisations.  Starting in the banking sector, he moved into an International Sales and Marketing role for a manufacturing business, followed by Kraft Foods Europe, where he qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and then moved into a Management Development Role.  Alongside this, he trained and qualified as a Psychodynamic Therapist. 

Nick uses the philosophies and methodologies behind elite, sports coaching.  His core focus is to develop capability and capacity, maximise performance as well as define and implement clear business objectives and career plans.  He enables leaders to create new ways of doing things, as well as successfully balance their work and personal lives, so they can be effective and enjoy the challenge of leading in times of uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. 

Over the past 20 years Nick has coached over 5,000 leaders, senior executives, middle managers and high potential talent in many leading UK and global organisations and SMEs.  

Nick is British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A & B (including MBTI and FIRO) and qualified in the use of Emotional Intelligence (EIP), Strengths Finder and a range of 360 feedback tools.

Nicky is a strategic, proactive, commercially aware and business focused Strategic HR Consultant and Executive Coach with 20 years’ in-depth, HR experience in blue chip manufacturing and retail organisations.  In her extensive corporate experience at senior level with Tesco and RHM, she designed and delivered strategic corporate people plans aligned to business goals and worked closely with directors and senior leadership teams to deliver improved people performance. 

Nicky has coached senior teams to deliver transformational corporate change programmes and coached executives and leaders to bring about personal change.
Her approach to coaching is a flexible and pragmatic one, grounded in her experience of the corporate sector, and working in a way that best suits each individual client.  

She holds Certificates in Coaching, Performance Coaching, Coaching Psychology, Stress Coaching and Problem Focused Coaching.   She uses her knowledge of these approaches to get the best from her coachees, balancing support and challenge to help leaders grow and reach their potential.

Kate is a chartered occupational psychologist with 20 years’ experience working as a business consultant.  She was previously employed as a senior consultant by OPP Ltd and Ashridge Management College, where she was responsible for managing and delivering to clients in the specialisms of management and leadership development, assessment and organizational change.

Kate has worked across several sectors both in the UK and globally with some world-class organisations, helping individuals, teams and groups reach their potential through the application of psychology.  

She is an experienced coach, trainer and facilitator and is known for her insightful, gentle yet direct approach to supporting change.  Kate is quick to connect with people and her business clients appreciate her approachability and warmth in helping them manage the complex and sometimes emotional issues that are part of organisational change and individual development.

She is accredited to use an extensive range of psychometric tools and is considered an expert in the application of the MBTI and is a faculty member of the Association for Psychological Type.  She regularly uses FIRO-b, the Hogan Suite, OPQ, Wave and NEO-PI in her work along with Benchmarks 360 tools.  She is an accredited trainer with the Centre for Creative Leadership and an NLP Master Practitioner.

Building on over 15 years of experience, Felicity has worked extensively in organisational development at senior level across a host of disciplines including; team development, coaching, leadership development programme design and delivery, senior level facilitation and senior level appointments.  She draws from a wide variety of disciplines and works creatively to design and facilitate client solutions that have impact and are enduring.  She has a personable and engaging style, underpinned by an ethical rigour.

His coaching practice is supported by over 25 years’ experience working in major blue chip businesses in digital TV, telecoms, transport and environmental consulting in the UK. He has held programme director, head of PMO and senior programme manager roles in Amazon, BT and Virgin Media, specialising in delivering high value and complex change programmes. He is PRINCE2 qualified and has a wealth of experience leading large cross-functional teams to deliver successfully highly challenging outcomes that create significant value, whether delivering complex technical programmes, or rolling out large organisational change programmes.

As a coach, Alex creates strong partnerships and close rapport with his coaching clients that focus on values, beliefs, mind-sets and behaviours. He provides a quality of attention and listening that create awareness, clarity of intention and deeper connection.
